Hello contrailspotters,
 
I have been observing high altitude traffic with binoculars above my home in Vilnius, Lithuania for several years, but I always thought that I need very expensive and powerful photo equipment I could not afford to get pictures of contrailing aircraft. But recently i started browsing this forum (some very nice photos in here <img src="http://picsrv.fora.pl/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif" alt="Smile" border="0"> ) and i found out that i could make decent photos with simple equipment I have now (pentax binoculars+cannon C460). I would like to post some pictures here, but it seems I can't do that yet, need to make 3 posts <img src="http://picsrv.fora.pl/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif" alt="Smile" border="0">

Now I have heard that Lithuania is very popular with contrails.

Please try to add a link in the first step, and later you will give us a thumbnails or photos in bigger scale.
 
In our Polish section we have the rule to givinig photos lower than 640px (if the picture is bigger we are using thumbnail or text link). It's a good idea for keepping forum availability for visitors with modem connection (like me <img src="http://picsrv.fora.pl/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif" alt="Wink" border="0"> ). _________________ Grzegorz Tuszyński

No problem for post deletion, I'll make one more.
 
It is good rule you have on picture size, as even with my broadband it takes a while to load some of the pages in polish section. I have resized them well below 640px.
 
I have also made a mistake in my first post in naming my photo camera. It is actually Olympus C460, not Cannon <img src="http://picsrv.fora.pl/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif" alt="Smile" border="0"> 
I would say 90% of high altitude traffic over Vilnius come from/to Poland on airways UN858 or UL735, so most of the observations will be the same planes just from a different location <img src="http://picsrv.fora.pl/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif" alt="Smile" border="0"> . But there are some unique traffic <img src="http://picsrv.fora.pl/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif" alt="Wink" border="0">.
 
Contrails UK - you make very nice, sharp and detailed photos, my photos just can not be compared with that at the moment, but I am only starting <img src="http://picsrv.fora.pl/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif" alt="Wink" border="0">

I dont understand, I made 3posts and waited 24hrs. Maybe my posts are noy legitimate. What makes a post a legitimate?
